VOC Kade

Together with operators Thijs Timmer and Nadia Duiker, we have taken on the restoration of the monumental former Koudgas building on Oostenburgeiland in the Czaar Peter neighbourhood. The building is a small industrial gem of only 850 m2, built at the end of the 19th century for the Werkspoor factories. The building had been in a bad state of repair in recent years, but Thijs and Nadia managed to operate it for years as one of the hippest nightspots in town. With the transformation of Oostenburg into a residential area came the time when this building needed to be addressed. In close consultation with the preservation of historical monuments, the building was restored and modernised while retaining the sturdy characteristics that make it such an attractive catering establishment.
